- You must reside in the nominated State or Territory
- have held your ‘complying investment’ or ‘complying significant investment’ (made in connection with your subclass 188 visa) for the whole of the time that you held your subclass 188 visa
- You must continue your business activity after holding a provisional visa
- Meet the residence requirement: you must have lived in Australia for at least 40 days per year or at least 180 days accumulated in four years

SUBCLASS 888C – SIGNIFICANT INVESTOR VISA – COST
The visa costs AUD2,590 for the main applicant.
There is also a charge for each family member who applies for the visa with you.
- Additional applicant over 18 years old: AUD1,300
- Additional applicant under 18 years old: AUD645
You might have to pay an extra charge for any applicant 18 years old or older who has less than functional English. The second instalment charge is AUD4,890.

What is the difference between the 188 and the 888 visa?
The Business Innovation and Investment (188) visa is a Provision visa, whereas the Business Innovation and Investment (888) visa is a Permanent Visa.
What are the different Streams under the Business Innovation and Investment Visa?
There are 5 different Streams: The Business Innovation Stream, the Investor Stream, the Significant Investor Stream, the Premium Investor Stream and the Entrepreneur Stream. All Streams have different eligibility requirements.
How do I meet the English Language Requirements for the Business Innovation Stream?
You can meet the English language requirement by achieving an overall score of 5 in IELTS (with minimum 5 in each component) to prove Vocational English while an overall score of 7 (with minimum 7 in each component) to prove Proficient English.
If I want to apply for a Significant Investor Stream, do I need to be get nominated by a State or Territory Government?
There is no other option to apply for a significant investor visa. Since it is a government nominated program, you must be nominated by the State or territory government or Austrade to apply.
Can this visa lead to Citizenship?
Holders of permanent residency business visas (subclass 132 or 888) are eligible to apply for Australian Citizenship once certain requirements have been met.
